Live Arrival Insurance Coverage

Cost: $2.50 per $100 of coverage.
Maximum Coverage: $5,000 per package, including shipping costs.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Shipment must be sent via Priority Overnight.
Note: Standard Overnight and 2-Day services are not covered.

• Packaging must comply with Herpshipper and FedEx shipping standards and guidelines.
• Packages must be shipped between Monday and Wednesday only to qualify.

• The delay must result from a FedEx service failure (e.g., volume issues, missorts, or lost packages).

• Coverage does not apply if the package arrives on time but the animal is dead on arrival (DOA).

• Delays caused by external factors, such as weather, airport closures, or local shutdowns, are not covered.

• Service delays resulting from address changes or rerouting by the shipper/recipient are also excluded.

• For hub deliveries, the package is considered on time if marked ‘Ready for Pickup’ before the commitment time.

Note: If the recipient picks up the package late and the animal is DOA, coverage is forfeited.

• For residential or business deliveries, the package is considered on time if a delivery attempt occurs before the commitment time.

• Delivery confirmation with adult signature required is mandatory for residential/business deliveries.

• If the recipient is unavailable during the first delivery attempt and the animal is DOA, coverage is void.

Failure to meet these conditions will result in a loss of coverage.

 

Need to file a claim?

Notify Herpshipper of any dead-on-arrival (DOA) claims within 4 hours of the official delivery time. If outside business hours, leave a voicemail or send an email. Failure to do so will void your insurance. Include your full name, email address, phone number, and tracking number in the message.

The claimant must also submit clear digital photos or video of the packaging, including the label, outer box, insulation, packing materials, and any temperature control packs, to confirm compliance with Herpshipper shipping guidelines.

Additionally, clear digital photos or videos of the animal, showing its condition and markings, are required as proof of its condition upon arrival.

The animal must be kept frozen until the claim is processed. Failure to produce the animal if requested will result in the claim being denied.

All supporting evidence, must be submitted within 6 hours of the official delivery time.
